Consistency

Psalm 119:5 “Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!”

Consistency is very important. Think about it, do you want your doctor to be consistent when he is operating on you? Do you want the pilot of the plane you are on to be consistent? Do you want your wife or husband to be consistent to you in their faithfulness? So no wonder God wants you to live a consistent life because he has a plan and purpose for you!

2 Timothy 1:3 (NKJV) I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day.

Without ceasing is talking about a consistent lifestyle. When it comes to consistency there are three kinds of people you will find:

1. The yoyo

The yoyo is the kind of person that has the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. One day they are on top of the world – the next at the bottom of the ocean. It is hard to trust yoyo people. It is hard to give them responsibility. On a bigger scale, it is the person whose principles, character, loyalty, friendship, work ethic, attitude, is always changing based on circumstance.

2. Safe

Safe people are ones that have stopped dreaming. Stopped believing, hoping. Stopped stepping out and tasking risks. They spend there time watching others, and making fun of their attempts: but never criticize people who have done more than you.

3. Consistent

Life goes up and down, but we have a steady line called discipline and principles that don’t change. We don’t get to control our situation, only our response. The Bible says the rain falls on the just and the unjust. Despite challenges, the consistent person remains strong.

Which of the three are you? God’s plan is to move you from wherever you are into the third category – consistent. And yes, I drew these amazing images :)
